Constantin Brancusi, (Romania 19 febbraio 1876 Parigi, 16 marzo 1957) è stato uno scultore romeno.
John Stezaker
John Stezaker (b. 1949, in Worcester), is an English artist.
His work is surreal in tone and is often made using collage and the appropriation of pre-existing images such as postcards, film stills, and publicity photographs. Art historian Julian Stallabrass said, "The contrast at the heart of these works [by Stezaker] is not between represented and real, but between the unknowing primitives of popular culture, and the conscious, ironic artist and viewer of post-modern images." One work included in an exhibition at Salama-Caro Gallery, London, in 1991, depicted an image of a punch clock together with the caption "Why Spend Time On An Exhibition Like This?" Colin Gleadell wrote in The Daily Telegraph in 2007 that Stezaker "is now being hailed as a major influence on the Young British Art movement."

Julian Stallabrass disse di lui “Il contrasto che è nel cuore dei suoi lavori non è tra la rappresentazione e la realtà, ma tra gli elementi primitivi della cultura popolare, e la visione ironica e cosciente delle immagini post-moderno”.
SAN VALENTINO FESTA DEGLI INNAMORATI
L' origine della festa degli innamorati è il tentativo della Chiesa cattolica di porre termine ad un popolare rito pagano legato alla fertilità. Fin dal quarto secolo A. C. i romani pagani rendevano omaggio, con un singolare rito annuale, al dio Lupercus. I nomi delle donne e degli uomini che adoravano questo Dio venivano messi in un'urna e opportunamente mescolati.Quindi un bambino sceglieva a caso alcune coppie che per un intero anno avrebbero vissuto in intimità affinchè il rito della fertilità fosse concluso. L'anno successivo sarebbe poi ricominciato nuovamente con altre coppie. Determinato mettere un termine a questa pratica, i padri precursori della Chiesa hanno cercato un santo "degli innamorati' per sostituire Lupercus. Così trovarono un candidato probabile in Valentino, un vescovo martirizzato circa duecento anni prima. Valentino, detto anche san Valentino da Terni (176 circa) è venerato come santo dalla Chiesa Cattolica, da quella Ortodossa e dalla Chiesa Anglicana, il 14 febbaio 273dc rappresenta il giorno in cui fu decapitato, a 97 anni, dopo anni di persecuzione in quanto cristiano.
Le sue spoglie sono sepolte nella collina di Terni dove sorge l'omonima basilica.
