These incredible looking tree houses are called ‘Free Spirit Spheres’ and are designed by Tom Chudleigh, and is an eco-friendly living quarter that was created to co-exist unobtrusively with its forest environment. Wooden spheres are built much like a cedar strip canoe or kayak, suspension points are similar to the chain plate attachments on a sailboat and the stairways hang from a tree much like a sailboats shrouds hang from the mast. on design-dautore.com

Antony Gibbon has designed a treehouse that looks like the elves’ forest home taken right out of the Lord of the Rings movie. Called ‘Roost Treehouse’, the concept treetop dwelling is made up of a series of pod-like capsules harnessed to tree trunks. Each capsule has sleeping quarters, and a spiral staircase that leads up to an outdoor viewing platform, which connects to adjoining pods. Only one of the pods has a staircase that runs to the ground. Designed to mimic organic forms found in nature, Roost aims to blend in and camouflage itself with the rest of the forest.
