Il vortice d'acqua di William Pye
Le innovazioni spesso hanno radici antiche, ed è il caso di questa installazione urbana realizzata dall’artista William Pyea Seaham Hall, nel Regno Unito. L'opera si chiama “Charybdis” ed è una bellissima scultura d’acqua ispirata alla voracità del personaggio mitologico di Cariddi, prima ninfa, poi mostro marino, la citazione vuole essere un tributo alla forza devastante della natura. Realizzata in polimero acrilico, la scultura contiene un vero e proprio vortice d’aria che nasce da un costante movimento circolare dell’acqua al suo interno. Un meccanismo semplice che diventa estremamente scenografico!
