This monumental organic shaped architecture realized by 3XN, Architecture Studio just won the World Architecture Festival. The Blue Planet aquarium is expected to become one of Denmark’s five most popular tourist attractions. The shape of the building is inspired by whirl streams of the sea, shoals of fish, and swirling starlings turning the sky black. the whirlpool shaped building is located near the sea side and connect the see and the surrounding landscape.
Visitors reach the entrance by following the first and longest of the whirlpool’s whirls. With a smooth transition the landscape surpasses for the building, while the outdoor ponds mark the unique experience that awaits the aquarium visitors as they enter The Blue Planet: the whirlpool has pulled them into another world – a world beneath the surface of the sea.
